Safety Passport Refresher Course – CCNSG Nationally Accredited

We have a range of dates available during 2017 for our 2 day Safety Passport Refresher course;

What is the course about?

The aim of the CCNSG Safety Passport Refresher course is to ensure delegates retain a basic knowledge of health and safety for all site personnel to enable them to continue to work on site more safely with lower risk to themselves and others. The Safety Passport Refresher course is to be taken 3 years after obtaining the CCNSG Safety Passport and ongoing every 3 years thereafter. The Refresher course results in the re-issuing of a ‘Safety Passport’ to contractor site personnel which is monitored and controlled by a national steering group known as the Client/Contractor National Safety Group (CCNSG).

What will I learn?

The one day training programme covers:

Session 1

Safe Behaviour at Work:

  • Health and Safety at Work Act
  • Employers duties
  • Accident Causation
  • Health and Safety Enforcing Authorities

Session 2

Safe Place of Work:

  • Risk Assessment
  • Permits at Work
  • Confined Spaces
  • Working at Height
  • Excavations
  • Fire
  • Construction legislation signs and notices

Session 3

Safe Systems of Work:

  • Use of Work Equipment
  • Lifting Operations
  • Electricity
  • Maintenance
  • Isolation
  • Stored Energy
  • Manual Handling

How do I attend?

One day programme from 09.00 to 16.00

Entry requirements:

Learners must hold a current two day safety passport with at least three months remaining or no longer than three months expired.

How is the course assessed?

Multiple choice assessments.

Who is the awarding body?

CCNSG. The CCNSG Safety Passport is renewable every three years

ECITB CCNSG Nationally Accredited Safety Passport Basic

We have a range of dates available during 2017 for our 2 day Safety Passport course;

  • 29th & 30th June

What is the course about?

The aim of the CCNSG Safety Passport Scheme is to ensure a basic knowledge of health and safety for all site personnel to enable them, after appropriate site introduction, to work on site more safely with lower risk to themselves and others. The scheme, which results in the award of a ‘Safety Passport’ to contractor site personnel, is monitored and controlled by a national steering group known as the Client/Contractor National Safety Group (CCNSG).

This course has been given General Approval by the CITB and in scope employers are therefore able to claim back part of the course cost.

What will I learn?

The two day training programme covers 4 sessions:

The course runs weekly throughout the year.

How long does the course last?

Basic – 2 full days. (Renewable every three years).

How is the course assessed?

The award of the Safety Passport is subject to the candidate successfully completing multiple choice test papers, with the question content and level set by the participating client safety experts on the CCNSG.

Successful candidates receive a digital photographic pass that is valid for three years.

What is the course about?

The First Aid at Work course will ensure skill, knowledge and build up confidence to enable the first aider to deal with any emergency, which may occur within their workplace.

Level 6 NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health Practice

Course starts on 15th February 2017 and 15th September 2017

What is the course about?

For those wishing to move into health and safety as a profession, the NEBOSH Diploma is an ideal qualification to achieve the level of knowledge required to become an occupation safety and health practitioner. The new format, started in 2004, is approximately 18 months in duration and upon successful completion candidates will be able to use the designatory letters ‘DipNEBOSH’ after their name. The new Diploma will also provide the competency that is required for Graduate Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (GradIOSH).

What will I learn?

The programme is divided into four units;

  • Unit A – Managing Health and Safety
  • Unit B – Hazardous agents in the workplace
  • Unit C – Workplace and work equipment hazards
  • Unit D – Work based practical assignment

When does the course start?

September and February start dates

How do I attend?

One day per week (Monday) – 09:00 16.00

How long does the course last?

Enrolment is for a maximum of 18 Months

How is the course assessed?

Three x three hour examinations and a workplace practical assignment

Who is the awarding body?

National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH)
